tazza
The "downtown- moving-up" scene
Drinking at tazza is like being stuck in a giant orange Martini glass. You never know who's gonna take the next sip. Ummm, whatever that means, tazza (lowercase t) is Westminster Street's relative newcomer, and Downcity's favorite place to catch an after-dinner drink or schmooze the night away. The glowing bar, designed by a particularly talented RISD student, is a masterpiece unto itself. Whether its Latin jazz, old films, or simply conversation over a double Grey Goose and tonic, tazza means culture (it really means cup in Italian). According to a frequent patron, "tazza is beginning to bring light to Downcity. This place is more than a bar - it's a neighborhood social center and it brings cultural events that you'd otherwise have to pay good money for."
